Matthew 17:24-27 (NIV) “After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesnʼt your teacher pay the temple tax?” “Yes, he does,” he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own children or from others?” “From others,” Peter answered. “Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.” After reading the above portion of scripture, you come to the realisation that Jesus was never conscious of need. Jesus was conscious and dedicated to the work that brought Him to this world. But also you realise that in Jesus' ministry, He lacked nothing. He provided for everything as occasion served Him. There are so many examples about Him serving occasions according to need. From the first miracle of turning water into wine at a wedding in Canaan to feeding thousands of men from two fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus could simply refuse to attend those occasions because He had no money to support them but brethren there was a deeper calling to Jesus than just these earthly things. Today men are so worried about lacking money that they can never dare to go into ministry. They tell themselves, "let me first work and enjoy this world before I become a full Christian." My brother it may be too late for you to become a Christian by then. Ministry does not necessarily mean preaching the word of God, it's deeper than that. It calls us to fully reform our lives for the work of God. Brethren do not worry about anything, just obey the call of God and you will be surprised how immensely He works in your life and provides beyond your expectation. Good day Child of God
