No one can serve two masters

Matthew 6:24 (AMP)

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].”

The reason we tend to serve two masters is because we do not know what is freely given to us. We struggle so hard to get what we ought to have. A lot of time is spent in struggling and little attention is paid to the things of God. That's why a person will prefer to go to work other than attend church because to them getting money is more important. Child of God understand this, there are things you don't have to struggle to get because you are a child of God. Take a look at a child who belongs to a rich family. This child will only work because he wants to. He can not struggle to bring Bread on the table because there is already plenty at home. If he does, then he is either acting stupid or simply betraying his parent's hard work.

Our God is a rich God. He tells us that all the silver and gold belongs to him. When you understand the mind of God, the reason for working changes. Working simply becomes a service in which men have to see Christ in you. There are people who will receive salvation because of the way we carry our life at work places. They will see you rich yet they can't trace any corruption in you because God provides all your needs just as a rich man provides the needs of his children even though they are working. We should not act like beggars. It's only beggars who work everyday even Sunday but you are more than that. For goodness sake you are a child of God and not that of a beggar.

The mammon spirit will tell you, "why do you give tithe, you are simply enriching the pastor. You need all that money." Brethren don't be deceived by greed, we shall be fully serving God when we do the basic principles he has called us to do, for example giving your first fruits, tithe. It doesn't matter how much money it is. Tithe is a tenth of everything we get, be it money or material things. If you receive 10,000,000, then your tithe is 1,000,000. It looks much but to God it's nothing.

Choose today to serve God

Good day
