Evil communications corrupt good manners.
1 Corinthians 15:33 (KJV)
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”
The principle is, what you put much attention to, you will do. You will always become an expert by doing something consistently. A person may be born with a skill of playing football but if they never step into the football ground to practice, they can never play to the satisfaction of those watching. The same principle applies to the Biblical truths, the more you ground in the word, the more easily you work according to the Principles God has set for the New Testament creature.
So when you expose yourself to evil talk and bad company, don't get surprised why things are not working out as they ought to be. If you want to be rich, then rich people should be your friends and you try to live the life of a rich man. The Bible says “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 1:6). But remember the same bible says that faith comes by hearing the word of God. So if you want to change things around you, the starting point is the word of God. You must read it, speak it and practice it. God honours His word.
Today I challenge you to look into your life and see what you are exposing yourself to. The principle remains true. You become what you hear, speak and do. Some things in life don't need prayers, they just need a change of our lives.
God bless your day.
