God’s promise arrives as pure gift

Romans 4:16a (MSG)

“This is why the fulfillment of God’s promise depends entirely on trusting God and his way, and then simply embracing him and what he does. God’s promise arrives as pure gift."

Child of God you may be going through agony but God's promise for your life still stands. He said He will never leave you nor forsake you. Consider great generals of the bible. Their lives faced a contradiction to God's promise. God promised a son to Abraham while he and his wife were way beyond childbearing years. A doctor today will call that madness.

Joseph's dream of prominence and royalty brought him several challenges beginning from his own brothers. This would make him want to doubt God's promise. Mary's promise to carry Jesus surely came with a price to pay. She must have been laughed at and ridiculed for stating that she was virgin yet pregnant and unmarried.

If we choose to focus on the earthly reality, we end up frustrating the God reality. Jesus said challenges and persecutions will come our way but lo! We have overcome them all because He overcame. In hard times read the word of God. You will surely receive comfort. God's promise for your life still stands. Rejoice and be glad in it.
