Wisdom is the principle thing
Proverbs 4:7 (KJV) “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” One thing that is for sure, is that none of us is born wise. Our practices make us wise. That’s why proverbs 4:5 insists that we should get wisdom and understanding. It is this wisdom that finds knowledge for witty inventions (Proverbs 8:12). That means no invention has ever been made without wisdom. But the question is, why is it that non-believers are the ones inventing so many things? The answer is simple, God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) and doesn’t show favoritism. God can use anybody in line of purpose and that’s why he gives rain to both the good and wicked. If surely you plant in the rain, you will reap a harvest and not necessarily because you are good. Your practices will give you a harvest. The good news is that you and I who have believed in this Lord Jesus can surpass the wisdom of a normal man because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. We have the Holy Spirit that searches the depth of God and reveals all things unto us so that, What no eye has seen or ear heard or even ever come to the thoughts of men will be given to those that love God. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives generously (James 1:5)
