Ephesians 6:12 (ERV) “Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places.” This scripture helps us to understand who the real enemy is. The enemy is not your neighbour, your friend or even your relative. The real enemy is in the dark world and only takes advantage of people around you and turns them into your enemies. Now, that is the enemy you have to deal with. You cannot fight the devil with physical weapons made by man. You have to use the weapons he understands best. Our weapons are Spiritual and are launched in prayer. If you want to see any change around you, don’t fight on earth but fight in the spirit and prayer is that weapon you need. When you understand who your real enemy is,it becomes pointless to hate a brother. In-fact it is a high time you embraced everyone with love. Love is so powerful that it weakens the enemy’s possessive strength on people. Jesus is our greatest example. Even on the cross he prayed for those who crucified him because he knew they were not the enemy. He dealt with the devil on the cross by deeply loving us whom the devil had taken advantage of for so long. Likewise, for us to defeat this enemy on earth, love is a mandate. Love your neighbor like you love yourself despite the wicked things he might have done and destroy the powers possessing them in prayer. That’s how we fight.
