Do everything as though you were doing it for the Lord
Colossians 3:23 (ERV) “In all the work you are given, do the best you can. Work as though you are working for the Lord, not any earthly master.” In this life, people have coined certain days and times to be for the Lord. There is a religious practice that makes people believe that only godly things can be done on Sunday. That leaves a question on which things are done in the remaining six days of the week? Every morning, everyday is a day given by God so we must rejoice and be glad in it. Praising God does not necessarily mean that you sing songs on Sunday only, but your entire life everyday should be a praise to God. See the life of Joseph, whether in Potiphar’s house or prison or even as ruler in Egypt, his life was a constant praise to God. When God blesses you with a job, take that opportunity to praise Him in that job. Do your best in that job not for your master but for God who got you employed there. Your actions and honesty will attract an interest for God from your fellow colleagues. And God will see to it that he raises you to greater heights for the glory of His name. Just ask yourself this simple question, “If today was my last day of life, would I still do what I am going to do?” Trust me when you constantly ask yourself that question, you will see an opportunity in everything to serve God.
