Matthew 6:33 (ESV) “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Wealth and money are things that are most attractive to the human body and ignoring this subject like most believers tend to do makes us live a life of a lie. In-fact some believers even go ahead to criticise those who speak about it yet its proper understanding can enhance our relationship with God. In our theme scripture above, Jesus implores us to seek first the kingdom of God because through this act shall we get all the material things we need. When you Seek first the kingdom of God, your spirit will be so full that your body will stop dictating your desires. Here is how we fail to seek the kingdom of God in preference to our body’s desires. You will know that you follow your body’s desires if it pains you to give a tenth of what God has given you. Some people even grumble within themselves while giving offertory. During giving, some even choose the least of coins within their pockets to offer God. How long shall we stop being mean to God? Remember you are not giving to men but God. Offertory means your heartfelt offer to God. It is God’s reward to those who passionately serve Him by leading others. What is done with your offertory is not for you to judge, leave the judgment to God. When you don’t give willingly and lovingly means you don’t trust God enough to provide. Let’s learn to Seek God by following kingdom principles and practices at the expense of our body desires.
