What is the Bible?
Exodus 17:14 (ERV) “Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write about this battle. Write these things in a book so that people will remember what happened here. And be sure to tell Joshua that I will completely destroy the Amalekites from the earth.”” In a few days we shall study what the Bible is, who wrote it and what is its purpose. The reason is to help those that have questioned the authenticity and legitimacy of this Holy book. Some people, even in Christian faith think that the Bible is a piece of writing cleverly put up by men in order to govern societies, but that is a false thought and idea. However, what is true is that the Bible was certainly written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Obviously God did not use His own pen and paper to write, though there are instances in which God participated in providing some of the written material, for example the first Ten Commandments were written by God Himself on two stone tablets (Genesis 32:15-16). The Bible is a God story in which all of us are characters in it. It is a compilation of many events that took place at different times and places. Just like the scripture above, Some events were written as soon as they happened. While others like the story of creation was written much later with the inspiration and revelation from God. This book we are talking about has accurate prophecies of which some have happened already and some are yet to happen. Also the places mentioned are not fictitious but exist in reality till this day.
