You have life and peace when your soul (thinking) is controlled by the spirit

Romans 8:6 (ERV) “If your thinking is controlled by your sinful self, there is spiritual death. But if your thinking is controlled by the Spirit, there is life and peace.” Your soul is that part of you that has ability to think, reason, have emotion and make choice. The Soul’s operation is torn between giving loyalty to either the body or spirit. The scripture above warns that if your thinking (soul) leans towards the sinful body, then there is death but if your soul leans to the spirit, then you will have life and peace. The devil’s main agenda is to seek attention and obedience of your soul in respect to attacks and pleasure subjected to the body. Take the example of Job. The devil stripped him off of everything but Job refused to submit his soul to the devil’s cunningness. Proverbs 18:14 says that a man’s spirit will sustain his infirmity. Meaning that your good attitude will support you when you are sick. When your soul agrees with your spirit that you are not sick despite body weakness and pain subjected to the body, trust me you will survive and recover. A great example we can learn from is the Shunamite woman. The reality is that her son died but she refused to acknowledge it in her spirit that her boy had died. And indeed Elisha had no choice but to raise him to life (2Kings 4:8-37). When your soul agrees with your spirit regardless of circumstances around you, is definition of your faith.
