Deuteronomy 8:17-18 (ERV) “Don’t ever say to yourself, ‘I got all this wealth by my own power and ability.’ Remember the Lord your God is the one who gives you power to do these things. He does this because he wants to keep the agreement that he made with your ancestors, as he is doing today!” Sometimes I wonder what gives human beings ego with something that is so temporary-MONEY? I’ve watched people come from nothing to something. Sometimes, you feel like those people were far better when they had nothing:-very respectful, always praying and seeking the Lord. The moment they got some monies, all of a sudden church doesn’t matter. All hell breaks loose as if they were always missing something out there. Beaches, world music and clubs become their desire and interest. Some even do it deliberately thinking to themselves, “let me enjoy now, then repent later.” God is only sought when they land into trouble. Sometimes it gets too late that they die without ever coming back to God to repent. Brothers and sisters, let wealth never make us forget our roots which are grounded in Christ the solid rock on which we stand. It doesn’t matter how much you earn, always respect people and your Pastor. God should not be used as a source of wealth creation, either way, this wealth will always come because it is a byproduct of seeking God’s kingdom (Matthew 6:33). Money should never control you, if it does, then you are surely serving mammon. You should be the master of money and wealth always giving thanks to God the provider. Never feel proud that you did it yourself. God did.
