God knows how to protect His own
Matthew 10:22 (ERV) “Everyone will hate you because you follow me. But the one who remains faithful to the end will be saved.” There is a uniqueness about the gospel. Once you’ve truly believed in the gospel, don’t expect everyone to love you. Naturally there are those who will hate you because of the truth you know. The fighting force of the devil will do all it can to fail you by sometimes bringing false witnesses and allegations against you. The message bible in the same chapter verses 21 puts it this way, “When people realize it is the living God you are presenting and not some idol that makes them feel good, they are going to turn on you, even people in your own family.” There is a great irony here: when you proclaim so much love, is when you experience so much hate! But don’t quit. Don’t cave in. It is all well worth it in the end. Peter instructs us in his epistle 1Peter 3:13-17, to have a clear conscience before God so that when others throw mud at us, it doesn’t get to stick, in fact after sometime they will realise themselves that they are the ones who need a bath. Brethren, it’s better to suffer for doing good if it’s what God wants than to be punished for doing bad. There is a glory that accompanies good suffering. Joseph is a perfect example. He suffered untold hardships beginning with his own family members, but God was never done with him. His reward for being patient was being the highest ruler to a foreign land second to only pharaoh. When you are persecuted for Christ, rejoice for God is not yet done with you. He will be with you and protect you through thick and thin.
