God honours principles
Deuteronomy 14:29 (CEV) “The Levites have no land of their own, so you must give them food from the storehouse. You must also give food to the poor who live in your town, including orphans, widows, and foreigners. If they have enough to eat, then the Lord your God will be pleased and make you successful in everything you do.” There are blessings that follow a person simply because of following established principles by God. It doesn’t matter whether one is Christian or not, as long as they practice principles, God will always honour His word. God blesses us not to show off in the world but to be a blessing to others. The scripture above clearly shows us that once we bless the poor, widows, orphans and foreigners, God becomes pleased with us and makes us successful in all we do. And even today this principle is very practical. Just look around the world today. Those at the receiving end have never left poverty, poverty smells for them everyday that they seek more and more which never seems satisfying. But those on the giving end keep flourishing and increasing everyday. What am literally trying to describe here is that rich countries in the world whether Christian or not are continuously increasing in riches because of their giving habits to the poor countries which don’t seem to move an inch. So brethren if you want to remain poor, continue living on the receiving side. But if you want to change your status, start being a generous giver and God will surely bless the works of your hands.
